ROBBO'S RANTINGS

The Youth Section is continuing to grow, the number of new players coming into the club across all the age groups, its good to see all the teams having increasing numbers, from the minis the u7's and U8's are just starting to learn the game under Phil Ward's and Muzza's guidance, whilst the U9's - U12's are increasing their playing skill and game understanding. The U13'S have had an impressive start to the season and remain unbeaten so far, which is great!! The U14's and U15's are playing in the top divisions for their ages. It's fair to say both sides are finding this season the most difficult they have had, but knowing the two teams they will raise to the challenge. The U17's are going from strength to strength with an unbeaten record, and with many of this team playing colts and 2nd and 3rd team rugby it's great to see the youth section feeding new players into the senior sides!. The girl's sides are continuing to develop and are playing some good rugby against teams across the south of England; this section is also increasing in numbers which is great.

Well done also go to Jack Anthony, Tom Jubb, and Daniel Roberts from the U15's and Rob Booth (U14'S) who are part of the Herts school of Rugby. The Herts County U15 teams have been announced and 4 players have made it through they are Tom Jubb, Daniel Roberts, Lewis Waters and Jack Anthony, whilst the Beds U14 team have selected Ben Cave and Jason Cooke it their teams.

From training and playing aspect we have had to change the times on a Sunday due to the amount of pitches available and the growing numbers of players. We need to keep the first team pitch in prime condition so that the first team can be the top club in the area. This has meant that we need to use all the available pitches and space. On some Sundays we know that as a club we may have running on a Sun 6 mini/midi teams playing and 6 junior teams (all junior games need a full size pitch!!), we do have enough room to cater for everybody at the same time hence the decision to stagger the times and to make the old 4th team pitch an official pitch, this will mean no change for the mini/midi teams but allows an extra pitch to be available for the junior sides.

As a reminder to all parents/players who have not paid their subs, could you please do so, your age group coach will be in touch with you shortly to ask to pay the outstanding subs, please remember that you are not insured as a player unless you pay your subs!!!
